Drive a stickshift, because you can always upshift to a gear that reduces your RPMs when driving.

Don't go 80 miles an hour. About 60 really is best for gas mileage on the highway.

Don't do jackrabbit starts (screaming from the line) at stoplights. That's dangerous and revs up your engine, wasting mileage.

Make sure your tires are full, your air/fuel filters are clean, and that your engine oil is good.

Travel below 70 MPH at a steady speed try not to stop and go.
On the highway get behind a tractor trailer. They block the wind and help with your car to not have to beat against the wind.

i would have to say take the most direct route: ie: not too many stoplights also check all of your air filters, n tire pressure, o ya n don drive a v8!!

keep ur oil clean....check tire pressure ...how about those filters air ,fuel are they clean //spark plugs ,when was the last time you had a tune up
