I think 1 month before the expected delivery date is suitable to have a baby shower.

I'm due january 28th, 2007. My best friend offered to throw a baby shower for me and ask what date would I prefer. I said the 2nd weeks of november, that way is ahead of xmas and all its expenses, and also because you never know (i hope not) if your little one may come earlier than scheduled. I live in southamerica so we don't have thanksgiving on november, but I think a good date for you could be either the 1st week of november or like the 2nd week in january. Congratulations,

I'm due Oct 31 and I had my baby shower on Sept 30.....so 4 weeks(1 month) before my due date.
My friend is due Jan 17 and she had her baby shower on Oct 7...so about 14 weeks(3 1/2 months) before her due date
And hey thats all great...there is no "wrong" or "right" time to have a baby shower...just go with whatever you feel
If your worried about clashing with other peoples winter vacations, thankgivings or xmas try to have your shower sometime in November or in January
or you can even try and match your shower up with the after thanksgiving or the after christmas or even the after xmas sales.....to ensure that your not to hard on your friends n families pockets..lol
good luck!!!!
and trust me once the baby shower is over n done you wont be able to wait to have your child youll be so anxious!
best of luck....VOTE ME FOR BEST ANSWER!!!!!

You could choose to have one after the baby is born. My friend was due around the same time, and just had a christmas party/baby shower. She just asked for the things she needed for the baby for christmas instead of a baby shower. Or you could choose to have one cloose to the due date but it is just not a gurantee you will be there. Have a date set for close to your due date and if you are in the hospitol or something, ask a friend to be on standby so she could collect things from people and allow them all still to drop by, because most people will have already boughten there gift.

The best time for baby showers would be on at your 8 month of pregnancy... But in your case it will be around the holidays and you do not want that..

have it when the baby is born and ususally friends and family can get a glimpse of the baby and buy presents based on likings, characteristics, and personality of the child
