Just wondering how many non-Australian people, espeically Americans, know the capital of Australia without looking it up. It would really help me for an assignment I'm doing!

The assumption would be Sydney, but for some reason I thought it was Melbourne. Just looked it up and discovered it's neither. Canberra is the capital. I thought I was relatively intelligent regarding capitals - apparently not! Guess this counts as yet another ignorant American. At least I know now.

I am an American and have no idea what the capital of Australia is without looking it up. But I am really bad at geography I don't even know all the capitals of the states in the U.S.

Canberra. I've known about it for many years but I gotta admit that I thought it was Sydney when I was a kid.

Dude... us Americans only care about ourselves... I also believe there was a time when Canada's economy dropped and we didn't know about it.
