Send a card. You could send a donation as a memorial to his favorite charity or his church. Be sure to offer condolences, just tell your co-worker you are sorry for his loss. Maybe a group from the office would like to go in together on flowers to send to the funeral.

Ask others in the office to join in sending a nice condolence bouquet on behalf of co-workers to the funeral home.

A nice sympathy card would be good with a very short notation inside.
