I'm a shy guy 26 with no friends at all. But i use the computer and tv often, sometimes it makes me feel less lonely. Is this something that happens a lot in America only? Do shy guys remain shy guys because they consider the computer a friend and don't see it necessary to look outside the house?

I tend do the same. It is so much easier to deal with people from a far than up close isn't it. i don't have time for dealing with people's emotions and attitudes Since I became latter in my pregnancy and don't feel like interacting with people simply because I am too tired and don't give a damn I am much more content. I do have contact with real people but not as often as my computer world. Don't rely entriely on computers and tv it could make you depressed.

Yeah. Same here. I have lots of probs talking to real people in real life but on-line I can talk more easily about deeper stuff because I can hide behind my anonimity. And as for TV, well it's a pleasant escape from reality. Sometimes our lives suck and we try to run away from them in one form or another.

I've got Social Anxiety Disorder and hate to go out, so I'm on the computer as much as I can be.

Possibly.It all depends on the shy perosn in question.If it works for you, and you can maintain common sense about the medium you're using, why not?

im afraid so, because i find that to be my problem ,but i also believe if it were not for computer i would be truly board,board to death
