in a household with two men and two women, should the toilet lid be left up or down, i only ask cos i hate to see it left up.

I think men should have a little more respect for women than they so, and the toilet seat should be left down, or they should just go pee outside, lol

Most commodes have a lid and a seat covering the rim of the bowl. The lid should always be down. The seat or the rim should never be exposed, except when being used.
In other words, women should put the lid down, too, after using the toilet. Leaving the seat down is just as tacky as leaving the seat up.
Of course, the exception would be if you have pets who need to get a drink... Then the seat should be up. :-)

Take the toilet seat off! That way it's neither up nor down! I don't' understand why women have such a problem with men leaving the seat up. Just like you have to put it down when you want to pee, they have to put it up when they want to pee! Why should it be down? Is it really a big deal to put it down before you go? The best is that the whole lid is down, so both sexes have to lift it up!!!

I always put the seat and lid down after i've done. I hate to see an open toilet, it annoys me

definitely left down!! i have this argument all the time but in reality left down is better - more hygenic and looks better. when a toilet is flushed the germs spread up to 10 feet and go onto your toothbrush etc which isnt nice....boys it may take longer and more effort to lift the seat but it saves brushing your teeth with toilet germs!!

a toilet seat is suposed to be down and men can pee sitting were as woman cand pee standing and men normally treat woman with respect in other things so why not with the toilet!!!

personally i have never seen the point to this arguement, it is just as much hassle for a women to put it down when they go, as it is for a guy to put it up! i say just leave it as it is when your done.
