I don't have many, but I do see one roach a day, I'm fed up. I do have a small child but I need to get these suckers away from my doors!

Close off any points of entry in your apartment. Look under sinks, cabinets, baseboards, etc. If you can seal your apartment off, and kill any hiding in yours, you won't have the problem of your neighbors roaches running to yours when they spray.

I once had that problem when living in the city. I caulked my whole apartment and sealed EVERY hole. I had the only roach-free apartment in a building of approx. 60 families.

You can't. The only way to take care of the problem is for the landlord to fumigate the enter building ,basement to roof, and then put something around the perimeter of the building to repel them. And make sure that any trash receptacles or dumpsters are located far enough away from the building, and that they are emptied regularly. Also , have him ask tenants to make sure if they have been to a place they know has them to thouroughly check there clothing and purses or packages for them before entering. Also he should keep roach traps under sinks and in places they would come up .

In some parts of the country, especially the south, roaches are very common - like ants. Either way, I agree with you - I'd want them gone! Have you tried buying those roach traps/food at the grocery store? Set them by places you've seen the roaches come into your apartment. Also, have a "bug guy" come and spray your apartment along the floor, corners, and vents. Good luck!

Unfortunately you may have to move. Roaches can get into cracks that we can't even see. . .and if they are in the walls or crawling out of drainpipes, well they have pretty much taken over your building and unless the whole building gets bug bombed, thouroughly cleaned and some lifestyle changes are made, the Roaches will return in no time.
Best of luck!

It is impossible for you to keep them away if the building is infested with them. Best thing you can do is to keep your apartment as clean as possible, (with all boxed food stuff in plastic containers with lids), and hope they go elsewhere to live. Make sure you clean up all dropped food particles, no dirty dishes left out, if possible take out trash each night. Put roach traps where your child cannot get to them. Good luck, you're going to need it!

had this problem with German Cockroaches. I live in a condo and both neighbors had it too. It got really bad and the condo pest control guy couldn't solve the problem. My one neighbor finally called an exterminator and within two treatments the roaches were gone from their apartment and mine too! Now if I could only get rid of the ants, grrrr!

Bugs like it warm if your side is colder they will like others better. But I will warn you because it has happend to me long ago if your neighbors decide to bomb thier apartment your life will be hell because all of thier bugs will move in with you because they can reach your place thru the walls.Keep it cold line the walls in boric acid (in places where the children will not go) and pray your neighbor don't try getting rid of thier bugs.If you are on talking terms with them you could may tell them you think the apartments need to be bombed and have everyone bomb at the same time that will help. But don't forget to freeze them out even after the bombing.Roaches have out lived so much.

Borax powder will help keep them away...but it is toxic to child if they put it in their mouth. I would suggest that you move quickly. Even though you have only seen one a day, there is probably hundreds that you are not seeing...they are more mobile at night, while you are sleeping. They will go into ears and lay their eggs in the warm ear wax....I know,....b/c I worked at a Doctor's office and we had to remove them at least twice a month from a child who lived in flith...I am not saying that your house is dirty...If the neighbors are not spraying too..spraying is useless. Roaches will lay eggs everywhere and you will never know they are there. They will get in your clothes and stuff in boxes to lay eggs.......So I vote...move if possible..if not...get on your landlord to do something about it and call the housing authority on them!

Unfortunately whenever you live in such close quarters, you can't really do anything to keep them out except have it sprayed professionally. Best to do it now since you are only seeing a few. They say for every 1 cockroach you actually see, there is 100 more that you don't.

For sanitary reasons, get it sprayed. Contact the apartment manager first. They may do it for you. If not, tell them that if you have to have it sprayed yourself that you want it deducted from your rent.

I put weather stripping around the exterior of the door flush against the frame and for the interior I used caulk in the cracks and crevices and for larger spaces I stuffed paper towels tightly. I also put scotch tape over the electrical outlets because they can come in there too. If you need to use the outlet just tape around the plug. Also, in the late afternoon you may want to spray around the base of your door frame. Check for spaces behind your stove, refrigerator etc. , and put scotch tape on those outlets too. For larger openings use duct tape.
