My girlfriend is 6 days late. She is usually very regular with her period...she gets one every 26-31 days. However, today is day 37 and there is still no period.

We used condoms EVERY time. There was no slippage or tearing. I even pulled out before I orgasmed...EVERY TIME. She has all the usual cramps...but no pregnancy symptoms like nausea, headaches, dizziness, sore breasts, etc. She keeps getting a lot of mucous every time she goes to check for her period...though this is quite normal for her...she gets a lot right before every period.

Me and her are very stressed about all this. We are both only 18. Are there any women on here that have very regular periods but have been late because of worrying if they were pregnant? Could this be why she is so late?

Sound's like your going to be a daddy!! Tell her to get a HPT and then get blood work done, if she is stressed it MAY have delayed her period. Good luck!!

Yes, being worried about getting pregnant can make a period late. I wish you kids would think of this aspect before you get carried away.

Anyway, you should know that condoms, no matter how carefully you use them, are no guarantee. They're some help, but the pill is far more reliable, and has the major advantage of regulating her periods to a predictable schedule. If you are determined to act like adults, then go get her a prescription and do it right.

However, with stress this bad, I suggest you two cool it for awhile and go back a step or two toward being young and innocent. There are, after all, satisfying things you can do playing together that make no risk of pregnancy at all. Use your imagination, or get a copy of "The Joy of Sex" by Alex Comfort. (What a perfect name for such an author, eh?)

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant and I have always been very regular. Not to alarm you, but when I got pregnant I was on birth control and he always "pulled out" as you say that you do. The best thing to do is to not put stress on her. Women can actually make their bodies think that they are pregnant which makes them late. Stress can also make you late. The best thing to do is to go to the drug store and get a test. I recommend First Response. It gave me a positive when I was around 6 or 7 days late. If it comes out negative and she still hasn't started in about a week, take another one or simply go to the doctor. Just try not to worry too much. I hope for the best and I hope this helped.

Hello, Being late can have many reasons, STRESS is a big reason. A woman's body goes through changes and this may be one of those changes. Just to ease both of your minds go to the local health unit and have a test done. If she is with child, I know it is a very scary thing, but it will not ruin your life, it may be a blessing to someone, there is so many people out there that can not have children and would be VERY grateful to have a child. Just take one day at a time and take the small steps first and just hold each others hands and pray, the Lord will take you both in his arms and hold you and he will help guide you through what you need to do.
God bless you both! Keep your heads up!

UNless she's VERY stressed and had major changes in her lifestyle lately (like going on a diet or something), the chances are, if she's very regular, that she's pg. I don't wanna scare you or anything, but no bc method is 100% effective, in fact, I'm pg right now because of a condom that didn't work, and it's worth saying that we used it correctly and there was no tearing or slippage. Go buy a home pregnancy test, like first response or clear blue and get out of the woods....Good luck

Well it could be change of season too. Usually if there is a lot going on you can have your period late.

Tell her to go Wal Mart and take a 4 dollar test..not much money. The generic are the same are the real ones. Doesn't hurt to see...if so then you and her need to sit down and see what other options you have. Good Luck.

Well, she might just be late, because she is stressed out. Tell her to take a pregnancy test and just find out. And if she isn't then you guys wont be stressed anymore and she should start. Stress has been known to delay your period. But if she is pregnant, there is a chance she feels no symptoms, because I never did, and i am almost 5 months prego.
Good Luck

Why go through all the worry and non-sleep when you can go to any drug store and buy a pregnancy test for the sum of 10?
Also any health clinic in town will perform a free pregnancy test.
If you feel so mature to have sex then be mature enough to deal with the aftermath kiddos.
Good luck and remember condons are not 100% baby-proof

Your girlfriend may not be pregnant necessarily. Sometimes, periods can be early or late due to stress. All those other symptoms can be caused by worry. Buy a simple pregnancy test at a drugstore and quell your fears.

Very possible that she is stressed and her body is reacting. She may be late and not pregnant. Women can be regular for years and then late out of the blue. Don't stress her out as it will make things for her worse. If you are prepared for the truth let her take a pregnancy test-best case is that it will dismiss your fears.

Yeah she could be pregnant. While I was waiting for my period I got all the simptoms of period cramps etc.... Please get a home pregnancy test and test right away. They are 99.9 percent correct. I took two and they were both + Then I went to the docs and they said yes too! Good luck!
