It's a real place in MARYLAND!! That wasn't the ACTUAL footage they showed, but yes it is true!! I agree Blair Witch 1...AWESOME...Blair Witch 2...SUCKED!!

It was entirely fictional. But the marketing campaign was basically one of the first 'viral' marketing campaigns that used the Internet. It was made to appear to be real.

Its a fictional story that was shot in a certain way to LOOK as though it was real amateur footage!
(and if it WAS real, there wouldnt be a sequel, but there IS)

It's fiction. It was also one of the most annoying movies I've ever seen. I got so tired of listening to that girl whine, cry, and *****, I almost walked out.

It is pure fiction. They interviewed the film makers on television years ago.

a little of both. the myth is supposed to be real but the film isn't a documentary, it's just made to look like that. the people in the movie were actors.

thats why it looks like it students filming it and not a real director

Originally they said it was real but then came out and said they made the whole thing up.
