I would get the MD out of the way and get all your pediatric training done, then go back and work on the courses you need for a teaching cert in your state, depending on the state, they may just accept the MD.

Your idea seems impractical. Med school is very expensive and teachers don't earn diddly so paying back your student loans will take forever. Regardless, if you're thinking of going to some high need local in the States or overseas and teaching during the day time and handing out amoxicillin after school, go talk to a doctor and then a teacher. Teachers spend way more time after class than people realize and doctors can't function effectively without a staff of 2-4 helpers. Do the reality check and if it's still something you want, get the MD first. The second degree will be a cake walk.

There are medical schools that just do medicine -- but most are part of a university with many schools. Nearly every medical school that is part of a major university will offer a M.Ed as well.
I have to admit that this is the oddest combination of degrees I've heard of. If you really want to teach (and wanting to do that with an MD seems crazy) you don't actually need the M Ed -- you just need enough credits to get accredited.
If you are doing it to get more insight into the mind of children (since you want to be a pediatrician) -- then it seems like just taking a few Ed and Psychology courses would be a better approach.

I agree on focusing on getting the MD. Once you have the MD, the world will consider you an expert in everything.

I think your best bet would be to choose one over the other. To do both would be rather hard. What is your ultimate goal? What do you want to do in the long run?
