Classical music is better because you need to know classical music to do good raps or write them down but you do not need to know rap to write good classical music.

Classical, because of the musical abilities one must have to create such music. Rap is just looping a beat and talking about some nonsense while some former gangbanger is yelling YEAH in the background. Rap pretty much s-u-c-k-s these days. In order for rap to survive its gonna have to evolve into something more meaningful.

Is this a serious question? Because there really isn't any point comparing these two styles. Both have their merits, but you can't compare them.
Classical music is extremely broad, encompassing many different styles created across almost 1000 years of writing.
Rap can be traced back to Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" in 1965, but more often it should be traced back to The Sugarhill Gang in 1979. So right there is a fundamental difference.
Also too, rap has a very, very narrow sonic pallette to draw from. Plus rap music, as a style, has not evolved or changed at all since the emergence of NWA in the late 1980s. Classical music constantly evolved during its life on this planet, from medieval to renaissance to baroque, to classical to romantic, to serialism, to atonal, to neo-classicism, neo-romanticism, minimalism etc etc etc

Classical, of course. I'm a hip hop fan but i love classical as well. But if we are talking about the reason hip hop will never be respected as art, is because it really hasn't evolved at all. If fact, it regressed. Laffy Taffy & that crap is a perfect example. The only reason sampling was used in the beginning of hiphop culture was simply because of the lack of programs that encouraged & supplied real instruments. Now it's really no excuse for instruments & talent to be used. Classical does evolve, often during the same suite. Hiphop, especially new, dosent do that.

Classical, because it's advanced music and much better to listen to. Rap has no musical value and well, quite frankly sucks!

I believe its all a matter of opinion. Nothing can be better than the other without opinion.
I love classical music; Vivaldi is my favorite. But sometimes I just gotta bump to Jay-Z.
