This is on behalf of my dear mother who has just asked me quite oddly to find out a song name and possibly it's meaning. I have just googled it under a hundred different spellings but to no avail.

All she has of the song (and this is apparantly how it goes!) is 'Oosh-a-larly' or 'Oosh-ya-larly'.

Crazy random I know but it has just got into her head and refuses to leave. She reckons it was a song she used to sing as a child. It may have a Scottish backround...

Pease help!!!!!!!!!!!

Aitch - She really doesn't know anymore lyrics - I would have googled them anyway if she did!

I think I might have found what you are looking for .
it kind of sounds like the same thing you typed..check this link out and the lyrics for the song ,"The bonnie Hoose o' airlie"..i think this is it !!!!!
click on the link below..it is a link also that I found when I googled scottish songs..over 200 of them and i just spent like 20 minutes looking at lyrics that might be the one your are looking for .
I will be checking back to see what the song is ,it is bugging me now ha ha
One more thing, this song has some history to it,it is a restored castle in Scotland, maybe your mother should go there,it is a sign ,if the song is in her head.

Sorry Ive tried all the searches for you and cant fnd anything. Its the same with me one night I was in bed and i had the tune for this song in my head and all i could remember was the tune and that I had definatley heard it that day/ and I started making my own words up. Thinking about it then I fell asleep. Woke up in the middle of the night practicaly shouting it was Rihanna Unfaithful. So in the end i listend to it on my MP3 make sure it was right and had a peacful night after. So make sure your 'dear mother' isnt making the words up. And I cant help because I arent scottish.

I think you may be looking for a Irish folk song and the wierd bit you're not sure how to spell is 'Shillelagh'. Not sure which song it is that you're after, but hopefully the right spelling will help you out.

Good Luck finding it!
