no the same type will do its made 4 both a desktop and a laptop and yes u do need all computers protected even if u have a thousand of them its not much good having an a/virus on only one.p.s. Norton all the way

Yes you need a seperate licence for each computer. Norton do a fmaily pack for about £85 for 3 licences! Don't use different firewalls on different computers on a network they will conflict and different antiviruses may too. I use Windows firewall on my laptop - which is more or less useless and f-secure on my desktop which is brill. I have f-secure anti-virus on both. I scammed the one for my laptop. but they are the same - 3 licences or buy them one at a time. If you don't go on any dodgy sites use a freebie like AVG.

Above answers are right. AVG is great. Norton uses a ton of resources.
I did hear that you could install it on up-to 5 PC's, a little known fact. Still if you want to kill more than 1 machine Norton's the 1!!!

I agree that AVG is the one to use at the moment. I have Norton on another machine and its nothing but trouble half the time and hogs a lot of resources on the machine.

Norton and Macafee, 2 me are useless.. i put AVG, on my sons comp and ran both Macafee and AVG, at the same time this week-end.. and AVG, found 210 viruses and Macafee, found only one.. i have a new comp and Norton anti came free with it.. i added AVG, and deleted Norton.. its good 2 have 2 anti virus spywares on your comp.. update and run scans often..

here..u will need this eventually..this is a norton removal tool because nortons is worse then a virus to remove from your pc sometimes.....if i was u..i would get rid of anything norton....
if u are in the market for paying cash...try kaspersky..or bitdefender..or even nod32

hmmm... i dont think that u need another one. u can use that same antivirus on ur laptop. try it if it works then there is nothing better then norton.Mcafee is cheap and bit faster then norton but norton is best i prefer norton myself

If you already have it then you can use it on your laptop as well. DO NOT use AVG antivirus, although its free it doesn't provide the same amount of security as norton or many other antiviruses.

I think it is best to check with Nortons on this one.. It might be that if you are using the same email address and the same isp that it might be okay.... But it is better to be safe than sorry...... SO CHECK WITH NORTONS...... :)
