I'm trying to find out what sort of impact orange wednesdays have had on the cinema industry (i.e. attendance particularly strong on wednesday nights etc). I've tried UK film council and the national statistics office, as well as Orange. Any ideas??

The National Statistics Office would have no idea about this.

You're better off asking the cinema chains, as (obviously) they are involved in administering the scheme. Here are two chains, to get you going.

(1) Odeon has a "contact us" section online at its website.

(2) MGM has a "contact" link at the foot of the page that will open an adressed e-mail for you.

For Einstein's benefit only, Orange Wednesdays provide a two-for-one offer at all UK cinemas on Wednesdays. As well as helping the public, it's a form of publicity for the Orange corporation.

What is an orange wednesday? Is it like a Hot Fudge Sundae?
