It's awfully hard to say, since the car is pretty new, but Consumer Reports' 2004 reliability survey ranked the Mazda3 in the top 4 among small cars.

I've only had mine for about 1.5 years, but it's never given me a day of trouble. Plus it's *really* fun to drive and has a lot of little luxuries that are standard (compared to other cars I test drove) that make me happy every day that I bought the Mazda3 and not something else.

I have a Mazda 3 sport and I LOVE it. This thing is great on gas, it's a solid, sturdy car, and I almost never experience any problems with it. GO FOR IT!!
