A good health balanced diet, excersise and a good vitamin tablet. Wrap up warm when you have to do not let body get to hot.Avoid public transport if you can lol
To be honest if flu/cold is gonna get you it will but having a good healthy diet should help a lot. I always eat lots of fruit and onions are good for some reason do not know why onions are good but they work for me.

There is this stuff called "Juice Plus" that is packed with all kinds of vitamins and such that can really boost your immune system. Also, make sure you get exercise and plenty of sunlight(if you live in the north it is a good idea to buy a sunlamp and sit in the light of it for atleast an hour every day). I also found that eating natural foods as well as seeing a chiropractor and taking supplements and immune boosters really helps! Your local health food store or GMC will probably have a large section of supplements but my suggestion is to look some up online and then ask a pharamacist if a mix of some would interact or if they would interact with any prescription meds you take. And good luck!

The first thing I did years ago when my kids were small was to put paper towels in the kitchen and all bathrooms. That way no one was passing on germs to others. I also believe in multi vitamins and supplements. I carry hand sanitizer in my purse and I use it at work and after touching grocery carts. Make sure you wash your hands well with soap. I also believe in chiropractic, an adjustment will boost your immune system and you will feel great too.

My experience - Vitamin C and Zinc supplements are extremely good for counteracting a bad cold.
Taking regular supplements of vitamin C and odourless garlic capsules will help to build your immune systme - but they will take a little time.
If you are generally run down (which is probably the case) then additional regular supplements of BREWERS YEAST are also very good - having all the B vitamins in them to assist with building up all aspects of your body, not just your immune system.
wish you well.

A general multi-vitamin will help, but specifically zinc and vitamin C are good immune boosters. I don't personally think echinacea is much use, but some people swear by it to ward off colds.

Five a day rule, supplemented with lots of garlic and oily fish. At the first sign of a cold gargle honey and cider vinegar. That will kill the cough.

Vitamin B and C will help. IT sounds like you have an allergy or a sinus problem. The sinus problem meaning that you do not have good drainage. See a Ear Nose and Throat specialist. I had this same problem and he fixed it with surgery. I would do it again in a second.

Other than increasing your vitamin C intake, echinacea works really well - you can get it from any chemist or health food store.

Exercise also helps, but who wants to exercise when its miserable and cold and dark?
