I having been thinking about changing professions, and I was wondering how would someone go about becoming a realtor? How long would it take to do so? I was told ony 3 weeks of training and $ 1200.00, for a 10 yr licence, could this be true? Would it be worth it for me financially? Anything that anyone knows about Real Estate, if you could give me some feed back it would be appreciate it.

I highly recommend it, with a business plan and budget! I was a Tool and Die Maker for 20 years and switch to Mortgage Loans 4 years ago and it is great...hard, takes decipilne, but no more corporate BS. In California it cost about $1000 to get your 4 year lic. which is needed for the Realtor and Mortgage Broker (same lic.), and then you have renewal courses every 4 years. Here are some facts the top 13% make 87% of the money, so if go into it have a plan, a budget, and find a good coach or mentor. Always maintain your integrety!!!

I don't know where you are, but in Texas the license is only 2 years. You need to continue training, however, so $1200 is just the starter. You also will have to pay for MLS access and if your broker is in the Board of Realtors, you will probably have to join the Board of Realtors. You also need to survive till you get rolling, and that may take a year or more.

IE, it will cost more than you think.

That said, if you can get over the hump, it's a great living and you have a lot of freedom that other occupations do not enjoy. I highly recommend it.

It will depend on the individual and in which you are living. Outgoing persons most of the time do greater at truly property. You have got to be all set to paintings it and installed plenty of hours if you happen to desire to make cash. The charges related to being a Realtor are: fee of the categories and the license cost, charges to become a member of the regional board of Realtors and annually renewal charges, charges to belong to the MLS and annually renewal charges, annually categories which can be critical for renewing your license, and a annually license cost. Also, she's going to have got to cut up fee together with her dealer or pay a per 30 days cost to the dealer relying on which enterprise she joins. I have attempted truly property two times, each instances simply facet time and it did not paintings for me. Other persons make lifestyles lengthy careers of it. So, it is as much as the individual whether or not it is valued at it or now not.
