i have tried driving it around it seems to be stable when it is in neutral.

It sounds like some wiring got wet. As stated above you may let it sit and run to see if it helps, may even open and close the hood now and then to look around and let moisture out better. Also, I not think this it but put a Bottle of Fuel Injector Cleaner in the Fuel Tank and Check your Air Filter, if it wet replace it.

Let it idle with the hood closed for a long time and let the heat of the engine dry out the wires. Now it's time for a tune up.

It could very well be that some water got into the exhaust and the transmission. Just let it run idle and it'll eventually dry off and it'll be good to go.

well ur car might have some water in the carburator unless its fuel injected and then you might have knocked something lose.
