Your examples puzzle me. Myspace, as I understand it, is free. Most of Yahoo! is free, too. Netflix, I understood to be an organization that rents DVDs.
A commercially successful web site is more than a blog page like myspace or Yahoo! 360. It is put together using a program such as Dreamweaver or Front Page. Of the two, I prefer Dreamweaver. But once you get the site created, you need a web host, and my choice there is GoDaddy. I expect there are plenty of companies that do hosting that I don't know about, so my recommendation doesn't mean much. GoDaddy is the least expensive of the ones I know about.

If the key part of your question is "commercially successful", then software is not the issue at all. You could just use WINDOWS NOTEPAD.
You need a great idea and a marketing plan.
You can spend a million dollars for a professionally designed website, but without the great idea and marketing plan, it is not going to be commercially successful.
