The new ECW sucks. People think thought that it is owned by Paul Heyman. But it is actually owned by Mr. McMahon and Bigshow, RVD + is on loan. Thats what i read in a magazine.

ECW is just another hour of smackdown were people get DQed for being extreme. And they try to act like ECW is actually better and more hardcore but vincent is afraid he'll get worser ratings if he shows naked girls and blood and stuff. nowadays you have to SCHEDULE a hardcore match, and even then it's just two wrestlers hitting one another with chairs. if every ecw match was like the dudley boyz vs who ever at ECW 2005 or edge vs mick foley or even the old ecw where things were really chaotic i'd watch. but today it is boring and if i was paul i'd save up money, then take my wrestlers into a new independent promotion called ECW.

For those that dont know ECW.... heres a clip on the old ECW.

In simple terms... Vince McMahon has one promotion.... WWE.

However, he has split it into three sections... SmackDown!, Raw, and ECW.

Three shows a week..... = more money!!!

The orginal ECW was really good and extreme. Personally I prefer watching some of the technical wrestling in ECW like Dean Malenko, Edde Guerrero, and the "Crippler" Chris Benoit.

I have huge respects for all the wrestlers in the old ECW.... but there were times when I wouldnt cheer when everyone else did!! Some of these 'extreme' moves could end a life.... or damage careers.

I havent watched todays ECW because I dont think it will come close to the old ECW. As a matter of fact... I cant watch WWE anymore. It is just going the wrong direction.

Bring back the old school.... and look into the smaller promotions, particularly ones in Japan.

They should let Vince handle the business end in terms of financing and promotion, but let Heyman be in charge of the booking and storylines and angles. The new ECW is nothing like the old ECW. It is a more sanitized version that is more mainstream. I miss the old style garbage type gimmick matches, not to mention the stronger language. This is basically a PG-13 version of ECW. I was into ECW before Vince acknowledged their existence. Paul Heyman is the genius behind ECW, but basically McMahon purchased ECW, when the promotion ran into financial difficulties in 2001.
RAW is basically the WWE first run program, while SmackDown! is basically WCW holdovers, since their top belt is the former WCW World Heavyweight title belt, plus I think they have the U.S. championship belt, which is another staple of the old World Championship Wrestling territory of the old National Wrestling Alliance, until WCW withdrew from the NWA. WCW is basically the old Georgia and Mid-Atlantic territories put together.

I don't think they should have added it as WWE's third brand. They should have kept it RAW and SmackDown! only. Most of the fans on Tuesday just go to see SmackDown!, not ECW. It's not fair ECW's making money off of most of the fans who come for SmackDown! on Tuesday. Paul Heyman should make ECW an independant promotion like how he had it before though if he did, it still would be beaten out by WWE.

ECW sucks now b/c Vince is running it and won't give creative power back to Paul Heyman because in his words the original ECW "was a train wreck and he (Vince) cares about his wrestlers."

I like it but it's not as good as it used to be. It's not as violent and they don't have flaming table matches. Yes ECW is owned by wwe and Vince Mcmahon. Not sure about RVD bein on loan tho.
