Your newborn has an amazing amount of immunity from you - and if you're breast feeding - this is even more true. However, it is always best to avoid ill folks - so if someone else could take the elder son to to the doctor - then great. Meanwhile - keep the elder son away and be meticulous about hand washing - hopefully should keep bugs at bay.

If your 3yr old is sick, there's a great chance that your baby will catch something at home! My bub got a nasty cough that the rest of us got when she was 2wks. She has Down Syndrome so it took her about 8wks to get over it! I went to the doctor nearly every week while she was sick to make sure she was ok and the doctor said as long as she still happy and feeding and hasn't got a raging temp, babies do get better. Siblings always give things to each other. It's how they learn to share!

Always a chance when baby is in a room full of sick ppl or kids. If your 3 yr old is sick, baby may have been exposed already. If you're concerned, get someone to watch the infant while you take the toddy to the doc.

Wash hands, wash hands, wash hands.

I certainly have a 2 month previous and that i've got been ill thrice on condition that he develop into born (2 of those cases, I had fever over 103). through breastfeeding, my son in easy terms have been given ill as quickly as and extremely quickly - he had a mushy fever and develop into cranky for an afternoon and that develop into approximately it. If in any respect achieveable, reassess your decision to no longer breastfeed. Even in easy terms a sprint of breastmilk could make a huge distinction in her immune gadget. once you're ill, your breastmilk will incorporate antibodies for the top virus you're struggling with, which will in turn help your infant combat it off speedier. without breastfeeding, her immature immune gadget is punctiliously by potential of itself. by potential of the time you comprehend you're ill, she's in all risk already been uncovered to it. She would or would possibly no longer get ill the two way, yet breastfeeding will critically decrease her risk.

Maybe you should try to find someone to watch the baby while you take your older daughter to the doctor, just to reduce the chances of her getting sick...however, if your older daughter is sick, I'm sure the baby has already been exposed.

I have worried that in the past also. They take precautions at the doc's to ensure that germs aren't spread. They disinfect everything and wash their hands frequently, especially between patients. The only way your child might get sick is if they didn't take these precautions.

The baby could get sick, the babies immune system probably isnt that great yet but I wouldnt worry too much about it unless he gets a high fever.

the child should be perfectly fine, particularly if you are breast feeding. make sure no-one touches the child, or your three year old; people should not be allowed to touch a child's face or hands unless they have just washed their hands
