its happened to me ONCE....
she went off on some rant about being capable of doing it herself etc etc
i mean really shouting ~ i think she was having a bad day though or something or was some kind of uber-feminist
i mean, i was holding a door open ~ i do it for anyone M/F whatever
its just common courtesy
oh and i just looked at her , smiled politely and let it close on her

I cannot imagine anyone being upset when someone holds the door for them. I am a woman and if I am the first in the door I hold it for other people both women and men. I think I would become more upset if someone let the door go in my face. Common courtesy is what really counts here and nothing else.

A woman would get upset if the door opener were to do other stupid stuff while holding the door.
You must be hearing hype ... to make you think all women are evil. Most of us are too sweet to ever be mean to anyone ... unless it's been a real- real- BAD day and you do something else like say, "Hey baby, great rear" (or something equally rude).

It all depends on the woman, me in general I don't get upset easily, but I see other women get upset at the drop of a hat. It really all depends on the type of woman, all women have different personalities.

I not only appreciate having the door held open for me, I expect it! Maybe it's a Southern thing, but I was raised to expect that any well-bred gentlemen always opens doors for ladies or older folks. Likewise, I open doors for older folks, male or female. It's just common courtesy!

I love when a man holds the door for me. the only time i get annoyed, is when afterwards he makes a rude comment about my backside, or says something else inappropriate or too familiar or sexist. it does happen, but not nearly enough to turn me off to the idea of human courtesy.

not sure how common it is, I have never had it happen. She would have to be a really rude individual to be pissed at someone for being polite.

They only get upset when you lift the toilet lid for them. Everything else you do for them they're ok with.
