They are not childhood pictures or highschool pictures.. They are pics of just a few years ago right before I met him..

It is not the intent of any man to hurt the feelings of his spouse or current g/f. Women save momentos of a special time. They may save a copy of a menu, or the dried remains of a corsage. But men aren't so sentimental as that. They save memories in live form... instead of the theatre stub, it's a picture of the girl he took. Men are wired emotionally differant from women. Imagine a woman being a control panel.... she has 16 buttons and knobs and dials... very complicated. Men on the other hand...if they were a control panel there would only be an on and off toggle. Men are very simple that way.
They don't intend to rub your nose in past relationships. They only want the memory.
However there is the exception.... some men do it to keep track of bedpost notches... in picture form.
So it's really up to you to determine what kind of man he is... you know him the best...or should.

It is a part of their past, and they are not willing to get rid of everything, just as well as some woman are not. People enjoy going back and looking at those photo's 10 years from now, and realizing how much life has changed for the better and how their life has unfolded. I keep my pictures in a box tho. Not on the computer. I think another part of it is curiosity. Everyone is curious or we would not get all dressed up to go to a 10 year high school reunion. Good Luck and Try not to think too much about it.

I read somewhere that unconsciously some men still think in terms of their ancient animal self, the more women they conquer the happier they are. So, keeping old girlfriends pictures reminds him of how many they had.
Another option is they are only human and in the past they felt a connection with that person and even if it ended it still brings back fun and happy memories. I think those pictures are part of his past, so they are in albums (or computer nowadays) like any other picture of his grandmother or somewhere he went for a week's vacation. No big deal. I think it only means something more if he has ex-girlfriend photos in his wallet, otherwise it's human nature - we get attached to our past, go figure.

My man doesn't do that so maybe other men just have a hard time letting go the feelings for their ex. If my man had a picture of his ex-girlfriend on the comp or out in the open I would break up with him on the spot because that means he still has feelings for her and I rather not get hurt in the long run.

I had this with an ex of mine, he kept pictures on the Mac and 100's of them at home. It used to really upset me but that's because I was just jealous, I used to think why does he need those when he has me, however i now understand. Its not too hurt us or too bother us, its just memories. They can keep photo's of ex's (i'm sure us women do it to) as a little bit of shiney holds no threat.
Try to get that niggiling feeling out of your head, try not to be jealous and remeber who does he come home to every evening!!

Probably because haven't thought about the ramifications of keeping them. Or they just haven't gotten around to getting rid of them. Plus they can't just erase their past, if the pictures are in a album they probably don't want to blast those memories into oblivion every time they break up with someone.

It's not fair to expect a person to simply erase their own past, they did have lives before they met you, and people like to keep mementos. As long as they don't dwell on photos on a daily basis, it shouldn't be a cause for concern.
