You will never truly see or feel God if you go through life being prideful and comparing yourself to others.

A proud man, (or someone who thinks himself superior above all others) will think he is the best. but no matter how high he thinks he is, he is not higher nor will he ever be higher than God...Also i think it means that when your so out of tune with life, being all stuck up and proud, you dont yet know Gods ways...how does one get to heaven if he doesnt know God?
I like this quote...nice meaning to it....

when one has pride he feels as if he has everything he could possibly need, or want and so wouldnt need God and then takes advantage of those who dont have by, despising them. and not knowing that whatever he has was given to him by God , he then uses all his energy and time despising them not knowing that all he has could be taken away as easy as it was given. i know you know the quote of "pride comes before a fall" its meaning is almost the same.
