I watched Sin City for the first time last night on TV but missed the begining so was a little confused about the final scene with Josh Hartnett dressed as a Dr. asking "becky" if she wanted a smoke and her having a anxious look on her face....how does that scene fit into the rest of the film?

Josh Harnett is an assasin and he's going to kill her.

I was in the exact same predicament (only it was when I was at the movies, not watching on tv) I had no idea what the final scene was about, and was wondering why they included what seemed to be a poinless scene.

When I finally saw the very start, it turns out at the beginning, Josh's character killed some other woman. It's been a while since I've seen the movie so I can't remember any detail, and it's probably pointless me saying this at all since there will be people answering who know for sure. So sorry for wasting your time :-p

You have to remember that Sin City (the movie now released and the one in making) is based on the graphic novels by Frank Miller. Unfortunately, they werent chosen in the order they were written, so it is a bit confusing if you havent read the books. This movie is based (among others) on That Yellow Bastard, The Big Fat Kill, The Hard Goodbye. (The first, third and fourth books) and the next film will be based on the others. In the beginning of this film Hartnett's character walks onto a terrace and speaks with a woman in red, after which he shoots her. I have to admit, i havent read all the books (only up to Family Values), so i cant tell you where his story goes from there. I'm sure it will be revealed in the next film (I can't wait!). It might also help to add that the opening scene was made as a pitch to Frank Miller by Robert Rodriguez. He made that scene to convince Frank to allow him to make the film. That scene is merely one scene out of one of the books.
