I think that time is only now and you can not measure it, you simply can not travel back just like you can not travel to the future. It's either now or in your memories/prognostications

Please correct me if I'm wrong
thanks

Thinking about time travel, this is how I would do it.

If I could create a Time Travel Teleportation Transport (or T4 for short - or Tesseract 4 for 4th Dimensional Transport or 4DT), I would place it in deep within the moon so that no one could find it.

Having two T4's (one to send into the past to become the time portal), using mathematics to determine the exact location of the moon in its farthest past, I would cause the T4 to send six temporal subspace recording transmitters into the past (one at a time), to materialize at six points within the moon (that together would become the coordinates that would determine the moons center).

If it works, the temporal transmitters would appear in the present as soon as I send it into the past (they being millions of years old but still working) - in actuality, they SHOULD already be there - but that is just a TIME PARADOX. The temporal transmitters would have a record of the moon's various locations over time(providing navigational coordinates for time travel).

With the temporal transmitters in place, I would send the first T4 (T4-1) into the past (which would immediately appear in the present). Now I have a time portal to travel to. The second T4 (T4-2) would remain in the present, to be used to return from the past and travel into the future.

What's interesting is that when using T4-1 to return to Any "When" in time between the time of its initial arrival and at any time in the future, you could use it to travel into the future (or to the "past" from the "present" traveling FROM the past) - and arrive in the T4-1 from a T4-1.

In other words, all you really need is one T4 because it would exist for all time from it's initial past (but if necessary, the T4 can be programmed to return itself to a different location in the moon after 1,000 years - the 2nd T4 would be sent immediately after the first T4, to arrive about 60 seconds later of the time and place of the departure 1st T4's return to the present).

The T4 itself being a portal through time, would allow an individual to cross over from the present into the past and to the future.

To Travel Through Time, the T4 would convert your body's molecules into the form of light your life energy consists of, and place all of the translated molecules into a singularity - meaning that all of your molecules consisting of multi-phasic energy/light, would be able to exist in the same space - in essence becoming a living ZIP file.

As a singularity (each molecule of your existence altogether compressed into one point of light), you would travel through a wormhole that exists in a state that is faster than light - Virtual Infinite Velocity.

If you were capable of becoming light, and moved today at the speed of light for 24-hours, when you stopped, it would be the year 3006. More literally, If you were capable of becoming light, and moved today at the speed of light for 100 SECONDS, when you stopped, it would be approximately 100 hours from now.

Because you would travel 1,000 years into the future traveling at the speed of light for 24 hours, The T4 would actually control the wormhole's time of existence like a camera's shutter mechanism that allows light to pass through it's lens for 1/100,000,000,000th of a picosecond. This would allow you to arrive at a singular moment in time based on how long you moved as light.

Because the wormohole created by the T4 transcends the speed of light at Virtual Infinite Velocity, the wormhole doesn't exist in space but in time - thus the Wormhole doesn't move because it is virtually omnipresent. To travel through time, the T4 first converts you into light; it then transmits a temporal coordinate of the selected "present moment" of departure/arrival time to itself in the past or the future. When the T4 of the past/future receives the temporal coordinate, it transmits its temporal coordinate to the T4's "present moment" of departure/arrival time to itself in the past or the future.

In other words, the two T4's of the past/present/future, TOGETHER opens a SINGULAR Infinite Velocity Wormhole TO EACH OTHER - creating a Virtual Bridge of Time that exists faster than light.

The velocity within the Infinite Velocity Wormhole is constant - but at a pre-determined rate, set by the length of the Bridge of Time (not the length of distance but the length of time). For example, if you wanted to travel 1,000 years into the future, instead of traveling at the speed of light for 24 hours, you would travel at 24 times the speed of light through the Infinite Velocity Wormhole (created and set by the two past/present/future's T4's temporal coordinates), and arrive at 1,000 years into the future in 1/1,000,000,000th of a picosecond.

Simply put, you choose the time you wish to arrive, the T4 converts you into a singularity of light, creates the Infinite Velocity Wormhole set to move the Wormhole around you at E=mcX (determined by the length of time), and you arrive at that time on time every time, and the T4 reconstitutes you from the singularity of light, and you walk out the door of your pre-destined time.

Traveling back in time is supposedly impossible. Traveling forward in time, however, can be done.
For this to happen your relative time has to be moving slower. I.E: everything but you is aging more rapidly.
When objects approach the speed of light their relative time starts to slow down. This has been proven by comparing the difference in time between a clock inside a jet and one on Earth. Indeed, the clock in the jet will show that slightly less time has passed so the pilot will be slightly younger than the people not on the jet.
There are even more in depth theories ivolving the use of worm holes and space crafts traveling at near the speed of light that would create a vast difference. While scientifically accurate, it would require a force the size of an eploding star to propell a space craft at those speeds, so don't hold your breath for that to happen soon.

As far as traveling back in time is concerned, some believe that an object traveling faster than the speed of light would start to travel backwards through time. Personally I don't know about that one. As stated by Icaruscatfish, we probably would have been visited by time travelers if that could happen.
However, is it possible that our particular planet just wont last that long and other species ferom alien planets will learn or allready have learned how to travel backwards through time?
Could it also be possible that (if you believe in multiple universes for different points in time) we just happen to be in a universe where traveling back in time has not occurred but in a parrallel universe it has?
I should probably post these as questions but I'll wager most answers will come from people like Voltar.

No joke ... this is possible ... yes ... it doesn't make sense as we think of time as being totally linear ... but time is not like that. It can be distorted ...

Here's something small that will give you a window into seeing how it can be distorted even slightly because (as of now) you believe it's unchangable.

If you put a clock on a mountain peak and another clock in a valley you will find that even though they were exactly the same at the beginning they will not be exactly the same in just a few days. I would attribute this to gravity. Check this out yourself ... as this has been a proven fact.

Once you realize that there could be the slightest of distortions you can begin to comprehend that all that linear thinking is not as you believed.

So let's just imagine ... that if one could control gravity ... then it would be easily possible to control the elements of time structure.

Okay ... I'm a person who has been privledged or damned to have far too many strange things happen to me. So much so ... I've had to attempt to understand this world in a different way than any average person living what most would consider a normal life. I had to do this in order to make sense of my life.

Example: I have watched a small airplane and realized it was going to crash ... I knew all this before it was going to happen ... as it appeared to be making a perfect approach ... I had this unbelieveable knowing overwhelm me ... I realized the pilot was going to apply the brakes before getting the tail wheel down. I went through a ton of ways as to how a tail dragger plane should be made to prevent something like this ever happening ... but I could do nothing to prevent it. Being a gentle soul ... I couldn't watch this happen so I turned my head away. Sure enough it happened just this way. (The pilot was just fine and walking around his damaged plane when I decided to look.)

Okay ... how could I see into time and know all this before hand??? Well ... honestly I don't know either ... I know that my father was physic and and that I had to come to grips with all these strange things that kept happening around me. So for me ... time is not the same as you see it to be.

If you google UFO videos you will find an enormous amount of evidence. I have also personally experienced time distortions in a UFO event (told you my life is weird). It is my belief that they (aliens) have the ability to move in time because time and gravity are inter related.

Don't belive in aliens? Well, do some research in the area of Sumerian culture, do not be afraid to ask questions for fear the answers. You'll find out where we really came from. It's not about the argument of evolution or God, why are there only two choices, just want you to know ... both of these are wrong.

I just want you to finally realize ... that this life ... isn't anything like you've been taught to understand ... you have to open up your thinking ... don't just believe me ... find out for yourself ... it's the best, most rewarding adventure you could ever have.

Peace, love, joy, and great wisdom to you ... in all that you do ...

I read your question yesterday, but answering it tomorrow.

Time has a variable in many mathematical formulas in science. If it were somehow learned how to manipulate the formulas to change time we could theoretically create a time machine.
We are in effect travelling on a time machine every day. Time is moving forwards at an essentially constant rate.
If you were to increase your speed to approach the speed of light, the passage of time would slow and eventually stop. It may begin to go backwards if you were to exceed the speed of light.
The biggest proof against time travel may be the lack of greeting visitors from our future.
I like to think differently, that nothing is beyond the realm of possibilities. It will take a far wiser and more imaginative mind than mine to twist itself to figure out the problem.

I don't believe that people will ever be able to travel back in time. If they discover how to do this in the future they would be here now.

You're looking at it from a human perspective, not a scientific one. Yes, right now it's currently not possible because science and physics today claim that nothing can surpass the speed of light, and surpassing the speed of light would be required for any sort of inter-space or time travel.

The future, and theorhetical physics claim there is a possibility, and it is. People used to think that it was impossible to fly, or to communicate instantly with people from around the world, yet we do it now.
