Harry used to be short for Henry but I think some people use it as a name in its own right now, although Prince Harry is definitely Henry

Strictly speaking, yes. Harry is a familiar term for Henry. But it is also a name in its own right and is often associated with Harold (Harald) which itself could be the Anglo-Saxon original for the Romantic Henry

'Harry' is an accepted version of the name 'Henry', Like 'Robert' and 'Bob'.
However, some people use 'Harry' as a forename, without any reference to 'Henry', just as some people are actually called 'Bob' on their Birth certificates, and have no reference to the name 'Robert'

It depends on what his birth certificate says. It may actually be Harold Potter.
