I have a fuel oil furnace and the cost is way to much for me. Heating bills was almost $2500 last winter. I have no heat in my home now and don't know the best alterative and cost efficent heat method. HELP!

Natural Gas,,,no matter where you live. Over the long term it is not only efficient in effect, but cost efficient in affect.

there is a newer type of heat source a lot of the rural areas in Michigan, US are starting to use. the buy a corncob stove (not like the pipe, its a stove made specifically for burning corn as fuel) you can get a stove pretty cheap, but it could get expensive of you have to have one shipped. anyway, you burn ears of corn to heat your house. locally, the stove costs from $100 to $350 and usually takes a bushel of corn/ week for a 2500 square foot house. very cheap and very efficient

yes good question, there are many efficient electric heaters on the market with built in stat to maintain a temp, then shut off, check all windows and door frames for air penetration, insulate your attic if not already, and check on the ceramic element electric heaters on the market. i cut my bill in half!

I think the best way to heat your home is wood heat. That is the cheepest way for heat
