We are painting most of our home indoors, I know well ventilation is required, but is it safe?
I have the steady patient hand in this house, so I would like to be in on it.
I am only 8 weeks?
what do you think?

Thanks, yes husband is impatient and likes to do it quick, with that said he has always made room for error.
Painting is so expensive, and needs to be done right.

They havent found that it effects the baby, but they havent found that it DOESNT effect the baby.

But doctors and scientists do know that ANYTHING you are exposed to during the first trimester is transfers to the baby, and the baby is most greatly effected by it during those weeks.

I'd say, if you MUST, use latex, NOT OIL OR ACRYLIC (too many chemical fumes), open all windows, turn on some fans, and do only the cutting in.

cut in extra wide and let your husband do the roller. Then you will know that it will look nice. How bad can he screw up the rolling? if you cut in well, and tape down a plastic guard, he'd reallyhave to be brain dead to ruin it :)

Stay out of the house for a couple hours after the paint is on the whole wall, then you'll avoid the worst of the fumes.

Me personally, i waited unil the end of my second trimester to pain the nursery. They tell you dont paint, they tell you its unsure, they tell you it might be safe. BUt its a small room and i only did 15 minutes worth of painting with latex.

I wouldnt want to do a whole big room, but i know how it is to be the only one capable.

Don't paint until later in your pregnancy. The baby is not strong enough to fight off anything at this time. I painted in my 3rd trimester....and it was ok. Be careful during this first few weeks....we don't want you to lose the baby prematurely....take care

its safe for you as long as you take breaks and dont inhale too much of the paint chemicals...I would wear a face mask just to be safe.
