It was controlled and ruled by one superpower made up of an extensive, diverse team of experts, astronomers, military leaders, politicians, lawyers, scientists etc all based in a small area with HQ's all around the world and there were no separate countries or languages - There is just 'The World' ruled by one major, highly proficient and capable superpower.
There could be no wars because there would be no separation and resources would be distributed equally which would be an end to third world countries, developing countries etc because there would only be one undivided nation of humans. The superpowers army would police the world, It would still be run democratically though with worldwide votes every four years for the leaders of each department i.e. science, laws, health, education etc.

So the Scandinavian countries would rule the earth? Not bad. I happen to be quite fond of Sweden personally, with Norway a close second. But even they have their problems despite their best efforts to create near-utopian nations for their citizens.
However, I do agree that human nature, being what it is, would soon corrupt the system. It would start with such unfortunate characteristics as greed, prejudice, intolerance and hate rising to the surface and quickly tumble downhill from there.
Unless, of course, we also practice eugenics and selectively breed those who harbor such traits out of our gene pool.
I do find it fascinating that so many people say such a system would be run by 'the antichrist' or 'Satan'. Even though I am Asatru and not christian, I thought I had a pretty good handle on the Judeo-Christian mythology. That type of system also describes the 1,000 year reign of Christ on earth.
And that's another reason it could never happen. You have too many people who fear any type of change and see it as a bad thing. So we're back to eugenics again...
Would the world be a better place without nationalism, prejudice, hatred, hunger, poverty and war? Absolutely. Do I expect ever to see such a thing? Unfortunately, no.

No. If you did that, then it would be the end of freedom. Also, you hand over the world to one main "superpower" then no-one will be able to stop them doing what they want. You would just end up with people like Hitler in power stopping international votes. At least we have countries prepared to stop human suffering in some countries. Take that away, and life would be horrible. And predictable. Just end up worse then the UN and EU.

So the word "I" would be pushed out you conform or jail, you do as told or death.
So hard work and long hours are out? I will get the same if a try or not?
This system has gone down in flames each time it is tried. It is push out by a few that want to be lazy and live off the work of others even if a gun must be put to their heads.

The potential for corruption of a division that controlled some resource for the entire world would just be too great. The utopian vision would soon be spoiled by human greed.

A beautiful idea, turned into a monstrous oppression once in the hands of man!
Now if you bring on the intelligent aliens to run the super power, maybe it could work!

No because there will always be power struggles and someone that wants to take control. Plus, there are too many dirty politicians that it would be very difficult to trust ONE person or group to manage the world and tell everyone what to do.

Nice idea but NO. I think we should go in the opposite direction and divide the countries up even more. That way making them less powerful than today's countries.

Not really, because for a better world we need better VALUES, justice and love, respect and empathy with humanity, and such...knowledge which experts have gives the "knowhow", it is values that set the direction...and we need to have a genuine and healthy democracy, not the hi-jacked one we now have.
