It has to do with our areas of heating and cooling, truth be said we sweat around our pelvis and our head and arm pits the most, some hair is for warmth, but also for cooling, natually the hair traps the sweat and creates an air conditioning (swamp cooler) effect, that is all I can remember, really we don't need it anymore and I am sure with time evolution will take care of it, but as long as woman find hairy men attractive we will continue to have hair

Dear, hair is dense just not on the head!! what about down there?? hehe.(which i believe exist to peotect the area from foreing bodies entering)Hairs exist maily for protection.to the layer underneath It gives natural warmth and the head has a largest surface areaand if its warm protect heat loss in cold.Plus, its a good cushion too,a natural helmet!!

those are the two most important areas. hair on your head keeps your brain warm, hair down there ensures your parts will work when it comes to procreation
