Trust me, I had all three babys who were all over 8 lbd, and healthy, I can count on one hand how many times all 3 of them have been to the doctors over an illness.

I tried to do it all right. I ate balanced, sometimes splurging, Never thinking fast food was best, or letting my cravings get the best of me.
Just try to put most of the food groups into 3 meals. and snack healthy in between.
And lots of water, juice and soda are very empty calories. and really dont provide much nutrition.
My recommendations is breastfeeding as well. It is the best way for the baby to get exactly what it needs right from mom. It's free, and helps you lose that pregnancy weight right away,.

If you have problems see a doctor right away . Otherwise see a doctor on regular bases. If you have Q? to ask a doctor write it down and read it out to the doctor.

Eat well, Sleep well (min 8 hours), keep Good healthy thoughts, No Drugs, no Alcohol, no Smoking, do not stick around people who smoke, take Medicines given by the doctor, drink 1 gallon of fluids mainly water, water is a universal cleanser.

Do not engage in strenuous work or work out but few exercises are good for you. They are fee hand some light bending, walking , swimming. Ask doctor about it. As specially swimming most be done under supervising by life guard and he must be told that you are pregnant. The doctor will tell you when to top any and may be all excesses.

Pray if you believe in prayers.

actually, studies in indutrialized nations (such as ours) shows that a mothers nutrition during pregnancy doesnt greatly effect the baby in the long run. Babies arent born skinny and sickly because you eat poor quality foods while pregnant, since the baby will pull everything it needs from your reserves, even so much as to pull the calcium from your teeth if it cant get it elsewhere.

Its before you get pregnant that counts, building up that reserve.

BUT, the best thing you can do is to take a prenatal or some sort of vitamin, and eat atleast three good meals a day.

Dairy, whole grain, fresh veggies, fruits, and lean meats.

You're a baby making machine, even if you dont know how to work it :)

Current theory suggests avoiding preemies by avoiding most processed meats containing sodium nitrite--this includes hot dogs and bacon. Not to worry if you've had some, just start cutting it down and then out. Vitamin B and iron should probably be supplemented by dr. recommended pills, but should also be found in green, leafy vegetables, and a small amount of less-processed beef. A high-calcium, well-balanced diet is enough from there.

Ask your Doctor for a brochure on Listeria. Lots of women don't even know about it, but it can kill an un born baby. It will tell you what not to eat while you are pregnant. Fresh fruit and veg beats every thing. Good luck and I hope you have a healthy, happy baby.

Lots of fruits and veggies! Also, drink your milk. I drank 1/2 gallon everyday with all three of my pregnancies. All are very healthy and happy kids. Not one has a cavity either. The oldest is 20 and youngest 16.

Everybody alerady said enough. I just wanted to add that you should just apply common sense to it, basically eat healthy - what you should eat even if you weren't pg, and avoid fatty foods, caffeine, chocolate (well, a piece won't hurt, right?). Also drink lots of water, that way you'll stay hydrated and it also helps prevent stretch marks. Good luck

try and eat as healthy as you can and remember that everything you eat the baby eats too. try to avoid caffine and chocolate. I know lol try and tell that to a pregnant woman. Its ok to give in to the cravings sometimes but the healthier you eat the better it is for your baby. Lots of fruits and vegetables....folic acid...and dont forget the prenatal vitamins.

Honestly eat what you want, when I was pregnant could not eat anything leafy like lettuce or spinach, I love it but when I was pg couldn't even look at it. Just eat what you like and what you will tolerate. I'm a coffee alcoholic, and couldn't stand the smell.
