I'm biulding a two storey extension, the current roof has an apex that runs from front to back. The extension roof will run left to right and cut into the existing roof halve way along. The pitch of the existing roof is 30degrees, however I need to do the extension with a 25degree pitch. Does this cause any problems?

Simple answer is yes different pitches don't cause a problem as long as you get the flashing's right, you should be ok.

yes, you should keep the same pitch as the existing roof. the overhangs wont plane in at the same plane if you use different pitches. im not sure why you arnt using the same pitch. if the new roof intersects the old roof at 90 degree angle and the width of the new addition is the same or less then the existing roof, the same pitch will work, the ridge heights will be at different heights is all. if i can help e mail me

You're not painting a very clear picture
I take it that you're meaning to extend the existing roof from one side, at same height at a certain point.
If it is so, the tricky part is at the point they meet.
If you do not fully understand how flashings and valley gutters work, I advice you to follow back the original pitch to avoid messy leaks later.
If you build it at different heights, then its easier on the flashings if you know how

Suggest you contact a surveyor or architect.
