I'm also sixteen and rather skeptical about Christmas, esp. with the mass secularization and all. We can't even say "Merry Christmas" for God's sake, we have to revert to the oh-so politically correct "Happy Holidays". It's lost all original meaning really, and most people I know look forward to it just for the presents. For me Christmas is yet ANOTHER day to do dishes too, lol! But I do enjoy the warm festive atmosphere that accompanies it, with all the pretty lights and decorations, and peppermints and gingerbread cookies, and lively songs (though they can get rather annoying at times) and the slight possibility for snow. And I don't mind the fact that we get a week + off from school at all either. Plus the prospect of spending Christmas Eve in Rockefeller Center is always uplifting. Wow, I think I just totally contradicted myself. I like Christmas as it is: secularized and catered to those who need a nice long break from work or school!
