I assume you're on a network. The print spooler is the cache file that holds print jobs and releases them to the printer one at a time so the printer isn't overwhelmed with print jobs from every department in the building.
If the computer that holds the cache file is being rebooted, is off, is messed up, etc, you'll get the print spooler message.
Call IT and tell them to reboot the print server.

turn off printer, restart computer... turn on printer, press resume button to see if any print jobs are in que. If so, check bottom right printer icon, double click (near the system clock) and cancel all print jobs.

Run spoolsv.exe -that's the windows service process that handles printing -
How to run?? Well, here :
1- Right click on My computer icon
2- Click "Manage"
3- Double-click "Services And Applications"
4- Double-click "Services"
5- Find the service named "Print Spooler" from the services list
6- Right-click on it and click "Start" (if it is active if not click "Restart")
7- Print
