There is a theory that whatever can be imagined can actually happen. In other words, nothing is impossible.
Let us therefore assume that a man does become God. Then, he should be omnipresent which implies he can have no definite physical dimensions nor physical movement. He should also be omnipotent which implies he should be all powerful, and he does not have to think or act. He should further be omniscient, so he would have no use for perception or logic. As and when a man can attain these attributes, he can become God, but then he would have destroyed himself totally to become that way.
We can't know it was a man who became God. What we can't know is no truth for us, it can only be our belief.

These days anyone can become anyone, or do anything they choose!! But, we Christians all know who the "Real God" is !!! And he's not in Human form, spirit form only for now,anyway.. And this same God, Is thee Alpha & the Omega, and when you've been touched by Him, in spirit, you will never be the same again, and no one, can tell you any different!! Not ever! I will take my spirit-filled walk, with Him, to my grave, one day, and in between now and then, there are no others!!! So ,pretending to be, someone as Omnipotent, and Magnificent, as God Almighty, no one, can compete, and why would they want too?? He's it ! The beginning and the end !!!! No copy cats, and if your asking because you want to become another Jim Jones, or Charles Manson, or anyone, who wants to cause more "Harm" on this earth like the above names, than forget about it !!! You'll be caught!!! There's no getting away with anything anymore, it even says in the bible, what you reap you will also sew!! So, I'd be very careful going around asking that question!!!

Taking your question literally; Can "a" man become God? The answer is an unequivical no.
However; viewed from the perspective of, can mankind become godlike? The answer would be, I believe so. I do not believe it will come in the lifetime of any persons currently living, but I do believe that mankind has the potential to reach a godlike status. I believe that God gifted humantity, with the ability to eventually become like him.

What do you mean by God. Do you mean an eternal, all powerful, all knowing, all loving being? In that case no, humans are finite whereas the above being is infinite. (assuming it exists)
Do you mean a god in terms of deities such as Zeus and Thor. in that case highly unlikely in so far as there is nothing to suggest it could happen, but so far as am I'm aware of no logical reason why it can't
Do you mean the creator of a universe? In that case it is possible however you could argue that would make every story-teller, computer games programmer and poet a god.

Joseph Smith (founder of Mormonism) taught the following:
"God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens...I say, if you were to see him to-day, you would see him like a man in form -- like yourselves, in all the person, image, and very form as a man....it is necessary that we should understand the character and being of God, and how he came to be so; for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity, I will refute that idea, and will take away and do away the veil, so that you may see....and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ himself did."
Verses used to teach man can become God. The apostle Peter wrote of being "partakers of the divine nature" (2 Pet. 1: 4). A careful study of the text reveals the apostle is teaching that we are to acquire traits of God, such as "godliness," "virtue,", etc. (vs. 5-11). Indeed, we are to be Godlike and partake of the divine nature in this sense. Jesus used the word god in an accommodative sense in John 10: 34, 35. "God," as used in John 10 and Psalms 82: 6, is applied to superior people, rulers. Jesus, however, is not teaching that these rulers had become God as God is God.

Fact:There is a gene in human kind that creates the difference between men and women, and very slowly the gene is becoming smaller and smaller, and scientists believe eventually, like in some other already existant species, men will not exist.
Theory:By the time human kind is capable of being god(ie:making and ruling their own world),this X (or Y? Dunno) chromozone will be completely gone.
Conclusion:A 'MAN' will never be god, billions of years in the future an all female society will be gods.

Never. Man is an insignificant spec in the universe and god has created the universe. It is man's foolishness which makes him think that he is great.
