I remember being a kid and looking up to adults who at that time were in thier 20's. They seemed so responsible, and adult like. I compare those times to now, and to me it seems like people my age dont want to grow up. Im talking about how they act right down to the way they dress. Is twenty somethings the new teenagers?

I think this generation of 20 years olds has a sense of entitlement. Everything has been handed to them and they always expect that to be the case. Because of that theory I think they have not matured to adulthood yet.

They need to get some more experience to realize how the real world works and I am not talking about the "MTV" version.

I somewhat agree. I'm only 20, my fiance is 26 and I swear he's so immature at times. He doesn't dress like a teen, though. I, myself don't dress like anybody. The clothing I chose to wear is chosen because it's me. I can still act a little childish at times, but for the most part, I'm over being a child.

Overall, it really doesn't matter who or what people act like, so long as they fulfil their responsibilities. Yes, I may do a little something that will get an eyebrow raise out of someone every once in a while, but I have every right to! I'm 20 years old, I'm buying a house already, I work 45 hours a week. All of my bills are paid. That's all that matters, folks!

And as for the young lady that said something about teenagers being more mature than 20 somethings - I don't know what world you live in, but that's not the case where I'm from. I live in the nicest neighborhood of my little suburban city, and the teenagers here are ridiculous! Just 3 weeks ago, a group of about 7 teens all made home made bombs and decided to put them in every single mailbox of everyone on the street next over from mine! They wear their pants down to their knees, shirts in the front of their boxer shorts....

The point of my answer is just to tell everyone that is in their 20's or 30's that it's OK to be childish at times. So long as you're not mooching off the government, all of your bills are paid...it shouldn't matter! It really shouldn't matter anyway, becuse it's really none of anyone else's business. One of the things that comes with being an adult is getting to do whatever you want to! It shouldn't matter who you are, or how you act. This is 2006 we're living in, people!

I disagree. I'm 22, own a home, work full time, go to college part time, just got married, and can happily say I live comfortably (as opposed to other my age that live paycheck to paycheck).

Oh, and my husband is 25. We've been together for over 4 years. We got engaged two years ago and waited about a year and a half to get married. We also have no children (unless you include pets).

I will agree that MOST 20 somethings (early 20's like 24 & under) are very teen-like.

I think you were just looking up to them and you idolized them. So they seemed "cool" and "responcable" but I dont think its any different. your 20's are for finding were you fit and screwing up. Im 23 i have my own apt. a son thats 1 year old and i work. If i never had to become an adult (being a mom) i would still be out partying with my friends that i use to have. It come differently to different ppl. And some are just born with a natural case of peterpan syndrom!.

of direction not. Nor would I easily have any admire for a teenager that pushes a grown guy to act immaturely. adolescents and adults' definitions of immature are diverse....what precisely does he do?? the former instructor sighing and writing appears like she have been given to the factor she is conscious any attempt to splendid those young infants is pointless.

they just seemed to be adult like because you were a kid then. there's a critical gap between the old times and today and you cant do a comparison because we're living in different generations. yes, i do agree 'most' people in their 20's act more like teenagers; arent they entitled to? :D

its absolutely not and I agree with you immensely.
To me, teenagers are so pathetic and I dont understand why 20 something year olds are trying to be their friends and act like them. Its like they want to be looked at as dumb and immature.
I am soon to be 21 and cant stand that. Being an adult is much better and you cant be in denial about it because that is what I think these people are. They want to be "young and popular."

My view on ages:
The teens and twenties is the "Learning Period". Ya bounce around like a coil spring full of energy. Learning and absorbing life.
The thirties are the best years. you start applying what you learned and still having fun.
Forties and fifties you are still applying what you learned, but you are also now the teacher.
The sixties on you reap what you have sown......

i sure do. they seem to act more mature when they reach their 30s though, and yes this does include women as well. Women in their 20s are snobby just as much as teenage girls.
