Thin and brown, you could get away with a lot.. brown/gold dress would be nice for this time of year.. hazel eyes, brown/cream eye make up.. I think a brown long fitted dress would be nice, with a nice shimmer to it :) X

First of all, the dress should flatter your body. Look for a above the knee dress to show off your height and complement your slender curves. You could also try a Ombre (high-low) dress, they look great on taller women. It sounds like you have a great shape, don't try to hide it under big pouffy skirts. Also, black, red, and white are very common colors for homecoming, try something different to stand out form the crowd.
If your skin has blueish or pinky undertones, then you are a cool. Try soft colors with cool undertones, like light blues, pinks, lavender, or plum. Stay away from earth tones.

since you are tan does that mean you live somewhere warm?
I saw this dress at Nordstroms and thought it was sooo pretty.
It's a Tropical fuchsia print.
If you live somewhere cold, any shade of purple would bring out your eyes, I have green eyes, and my favorite dress is violet silk with black lace overlay

A real pretty light lime green color dress. We had this color where I use to work they had them and they looked great on girls with your description.
