I began missing money (around $40) I suspected my "friend." Now she hasn't been talking to me even though she just lives 1/2 mile away. She does email me, though.
She sent me an email that said:
"i want be comming back to church i miss you and hope that we can still be friends but i really did not do that and if you are my friend then you would belive me i would not do that to friend."

I'm sure she took the money, but I don't really have evidence. She says she didn't take the money, but what happened was she would get in my purse for something like gum or lotion (we were friends. I didn't really mind her getting in my purse, cuz I trusted her). Then she would always seem to have extra money that day. One time I saw her with the money in her hands. Later that day when I counted my money, I was missing about $10.

If she is a true friend she wouldn't send you an e-mail and not come around... Not going to church tells me she has a guilty conscience and some people even though they are thieves have a way of making things right in their heads about the wrongs they do....
If she didn't do it, she should be fighting tooth and nail trying to convince you otherwise and not letting up.
Resign yourself to the fact that she has moved on to another victim and maybe this is the best thing for you.
If you can"t trust her, she isn't a friend......

Missing money, and suspected "friend" avoiding you...Hmmm...I wouldn't be able to trust her anymore, which would really affect the friendship.
