I'm a Libertarian, and I'm not terribly concerned with issues, but on principles, so it'd be 4.

We live in a unique country. It was created by the people, through the states, rather than having grown out of a feudal system. As such, our government only has the power delegated to it, and no others. Delegated power can only come from someone that has the power themselves. Since I cannot personally force my neighbor to provide health care for a stranger, I cannot legitimately delegate this to my government, even if 99% agree to it.

All government is based on force and coercion. The question is "what is a legitimate use of force?"

Neither of the two majors understand the question. I can't support a party that thinks theft is okay as long as the majority support it.

GATES: To answer your question, no, I would not lie under oath about an affair or anything else. Get over your belief that Clinton was impeached for sex. It was Perjury. He admitted that he committed Perjury. He should have been convicted, and he should have served time in prison.

4. Libertarian

Many, many years ago I voted Republican because I believed their rhetoric about less government. For as long as they have been in power, we still have a confusing and confiscatory tax code and a gargantuan budget. George W. Bush and the Republicans in the House and Senate call themselves conservatives? What is the evidence for it? Check-out the transportation bill or prescription drug benefit program.

Even on their conservative social issues (which I've never been crazy about) they have demonstrated that they are all talk. Every election cycle they bring out the right to life rhetoric, but they haven't even proposed a constitutional amendment.

The Republican Party is gutless and spineless...don't even get me started on the Democrats!

OTHER: Because Republicans are the opitome of "slimy politicians" - case in point - they have a child molestor in their midst, and no one says anything or does anything about it - they just cover it up because he's a good politician.

WTF? I mean, was what Bill Clinton did with Monica Lewinsky that bad? Not now! Really? I mean, he had consensual sex with an adult woman. The WORST he did was commit adultry, and maybe "fudge" about it a little afterward - but then, wouldn't you, if you wanted to keep your marriage intact?

This guy propositioned minors - of the same sex. He was no less than a sexual predator - using candy and toys to lure the little boys. And what did the Repugnicans do? They swept it under the rug, because he's a great politician who is a shoe-in for the win in his district.

My question is this - how many other Repukeians are out there with this type of record, and how many other coverups are there? Is there an axe murderer in the Republican party? And, if so, is Hastert covering for him as well?

I already had a pretty dim view of the Republican party, but now - well - my view of politics and politicians in Washington as a whole is completely blown now.

When I was younger I was an Independent and now I vote Republican all the time.

Because the Bush Administration and Radical Conservatives and NeoCons are destroying The USA, and turning it into a lawless dictatorship.

I don't, I'm Independent.
I won't be pigeonholed into one of our lame parties, parties which are virtually the same.
The only thing that seperates them is their special interest donors, and usually it's only the amounts. They're both beholden to corporate donors. They both suck.
