Of course they are being stupid..I have been to Australia many times and love the country but I must be honest the folks certainly aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer...

Hi mate! let me tell you, they wern't Aussies, they were American backpackers, the police know who they are but are not going to prosecute them because when they did it they were in a highly emotional state at the time,(probally on drugs as well), they blamed the stingrays but it was an accident and Steve would never never have wanted that.

Steve was there to open up awareness not to lead to the deaths of them. The sting ray was doing what it does with anyone who gets in the way.

Killing any animal after it defended itself again a stupid human who was the one bothering the animal in the first place is very stupid. Especially if the animal was in it's own habitat and not in someone's backyard pool.

Irwin woulden't of wanted that. He knows it's not the stingrays fault. If any of them get killed trying to kill a stingray, you can't have much sympathy.

god yes! one stingray goes into its natural defense mode, and they all have to suffer. this is not what steve would want.
