I think that immature people leave the one they love for the one they like because they don´t realize that the excitement of a new relationship will pass, and after they will probably regret about making this impulsive trade. The thing is, in all relationships people tend to be "bored" at some point, which has to be seen as something normal. As Dalai lama says we have a base genetical level of happiness which means that anything that happens to you, good or bad, changes your level of happiness, but sooner or later you will come back to your normal state of happiness. I believe that with love you have the same felling, sometimes there are extremely good moments or very bad moments as well, but you will soon get back to your normal way of being, and then it is when you think you are not so excited about your partner anymore, this situation combined with the excitement of having a new relationship makes you give up about the one you already have. I also believe that maybe many people are not able to live in a relationship when things get "boring" they need this excitement of the first kiss and sex with a different person to be happy. I don´t blame them though, but I guess that when you find the one you really love this kind of necessity will certainly pass, not as a magic trick but with a kind of maturity that will make you decide which kind of relationship will bring you more happiness and fulfillment. Also with this maturity level and some mind trainning you can see the bright sides of the one you have and maybe increase your base level of happiness next to this person, and this way you won´t take the risk of regreting later.

Yep that is probably the mistake im making at the moment!!But as the saying goes you always think the grass is greener. For some reason the feeling of pure lust and the first feelings of attraction some times feel a lot stronger than the ones you feel when you are in love!!It seems a lots more exciting!Hopefully i wont regret it,but if i do then iv only got myself to blame x

Because they're sad indesisive b*st*ds that haven't got the brains to make up their minds! They run away at the first little tiny argument! My parents had many upheavels in their life but came from a background that believed in the vows 'for better or worse' etc....My father died last year on the eve of their 50 wedding anniversary.....if they had been living in todays world they probably wouldn't have got much passed 5 yrs! My mother still loves and mourns her husband. Marriage isn't what it used to be! It appears it is on a 'whim' and in some cases even a way to make a quick buck these days!!!

because people make mistakes. When you've been going out with someone for a long time its easy to get bored, you simply stop making such a big afford, so when someone new and exciting comes along that's really interested in you its easy to see the appeal. But you have to remind yourself that person would change too with time, its not always going to be exciting.

Familiarity breads contempt, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence (until you get there!)... many ideas on this topic I suppose. Perhaps the key answer is you don't know what you have until you are in danger of losing it and that's when you learn the true value of your relationship. xxx

Because the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side. The only snag is that when you get to the other side the grass is still greener on the other side (in other words the side from whence you came!!!!!!!)

New relationships are always more exciting. If they weren't people wouldn't be having a new relationship. In that scenario it is the feeling that you are wanted, which is often missing in longer term relationships as we take each other for granted.
