You can do some BHS exams through The Open College of Equine Studies. These can be partly from home, but will also involve practical work, so you will need to get as much experience as you can from a local equestrian centre. The Horse Owners certificate run by the BHS can be studied at home if you have access to horses for practical work. They also do the Senior Horsemaster's certificate, which is theoretical but not recognised as a teaching or equine qualification outside.

I am doing the latter as I already have my Stage 2 and want to brush up on the theory side.

The college can be found easily by doing a web search.

Not sure, I think you can do the Horse Owner exams from home. Check out their website for more info. Definitely can't do the Stages 1, 2, 3 etc from home because they are practical not written tests. They may be held at a riding school near to you though.

As far as I know you cant - I do know you have to gain work experience through a registered yard - and then I think you have to do the theory in an exam centre.
