giving fives is a way of expressing ur opinion on them
the word five does not have any meaning
but,whenever u press the give a five button, there r loads of options to send.
i mean like birthday,cute,stylish,......
itz just a way of expressing ur thoughts on them

isn't that when you slap someone really hard with your hand spread apart and it leaves a mark of all five fingers (like a red mark) so since you have five fingers on you people say fives!! i think!!
