wherever i am i always see someone crossing their legs (at the knee) i've seen so many people do it mainly women. my gilfriend always crosses her legs when she sits no matter what she is wearing. i was just curious why people do it, and do you notice when you do or out of habbit?

I do it because I find it comfortable and it takes the pressure off my back.

I have, however, heard that it is very bad for your lower leg(calf) as it disrupts the blood flow.

It's probably got a lot to do with my culture as well. I WOULD find it comfortable because I have been sitting that way for a long time (though generally when I am out I cross my legs at the ankle because I find it a more conservative way to sit.)

Come to think of it, if I had the choice, I would sit on a chair backwards, leaning my arms across the back rest (wearing pants, of course!)

It is a question of etiquette not to mention that it gives the body an appealing slant. Another reason is modesty as in some cultures it is considered a proper way for young girls to sit so as not to expose their underwear. I have also heard some guys say that it give them a better posture(and confidence) when communicating with others as it prevents the knees and legs from wobbling and giving away tell-tale signs of nervousness, excitement etc.

Beacuse I don't want people to look at my penis when I'm wearing shorts !

i do it sometyms out of habit.
sometyms i'm trying to have the secured feeling.
sometyms.. i'm jus controlling my pee.
haha.
most of the tym is becus pple lack of a sense of security that's why they do that..
