There is a stigma associated with being a dropout. It's not fair, because a dropout isn't necessarily an unproductive person.
One's being a dropout also isn't necessarily one's own fault.

On the other hand, dropouts do *tend* to cause more problems for society than benefits. That's one of the reasons why there is a stigma attached to being one. The stigma has social value--it helps deter people from dropping out.

As JFK said, "Life isn't fair. It's hard."

The reason that American society treats them that way is because they don't understand why!!!
They think that sense they didn't go to school they don't understand and are very uneducated and everything but it's really because some people need different things and drop-outs don't understand and/or don't need school because they don't learn that way!!!

Knowing several that never completed high school, they haven't worked just as hard, that's the point.

I have never experienced this . I don't remember ever going after a job where I was turned away !
