Doesn't this completely destroy years of civil rights work to protect
people on jobs who don't have Unions.
Isn't it a cop-out only because governement is back-logged with cases.
We need people on thier jobs, to relieve tax burdens, and cut
down on welfare, and crime.

This is not a simple question. The laws that allow employers to fire workers at will (which have existed for many decades) can be abused, but it is equally evident that laws protecting workers can be abused. Everyone knows stories of how some 'worker' has used the union system to cover incompetence, laziness, sexual harassment, theft, etc. And if you have ever worked in a government agency, you have seen examples of all of those things. It is very frustrating for the good workers who have to carry the load for these slobs and cannot get rid of them. In theory the union will police its own people to be sure that they are doing a professional job, but in practice that rarely happens.

It is OK to argue that we need people in jobs, but we also need people to be productive. We are in a giant economic war with the whole world and the USA is losing badly in this war because of dramatically high salaries and poor production. -- one of the most distinct examples is the destruction of the Ford and GM empires by overly strict union rules that left these manufacturers with grossly bloated workforces and low production compared to Honda and Toyota.

A smart company doesnt randomly fire people just because there is an 'at will' law. If the company is smart, it will hire and keep good workers.

On a local basis, if you were a company owner or manager and wanted to place a new factory or office, which community would you prefer, one with strict union laws, or one with 'at will'?

What are you talking about ? You get fired because you are not performing your duties to the level required, or you have broken the rules.

There is no room for passengers in industry and business today.

YES, STATES, SUCH AS GEORGIA, WHERE "AT WILL" ONLY SERVES AS A TOOL FOR THE EMPLOYER, FLYS TO THE TEETH OF LOGIC. ONCE AGAIN PROVING ,THAT WE ARE NOW A NATION CONTROLED BY "BIG BUSSINES", RATHER THEN A NATION WHERE "MAJORITY RULE"CONTROLS THE LEGAL PROCESS. HOWEVER WITH THE RECENT APPOINTMENTS OF THE BUSH ADMIN. TO THE SUPREME COURT, THE LAW WILL STAND FOR THE REMAINDER OF OUR LIFETIMES. THE OLD ADDAGE, "YOU CAN'T FIGHT CITY HALL" SHOULD BE CHANGED TO, "YOU CAN'T FIGHT
BIG BUSSINESS" IT'S THE GOLDEN RULE OF THE 21ST CENTURY, "HE WHO HAS THE GOLD,.....RULES"
