Some of the questions and answers on the site make me think the education of the average user is just above that of a house plant.

Does anyone else notice this is getting worse as time goes by?

Am I alone in this supposition?

I believe there are a lot of factors leading to the "dumbing down" of Americans. (Especially school age children)
These are the things I believe are the enemy:
Overly permissive parents
One parent families
Teachers needing to spend too much time disciplining, leaving not enough time for educating
Television and video games
Computers for play and communication
Gangsta mentality, worship, and music.
Etc.

Nope, you are not alone. Most of the answers I get - don't answer the question, which leads me to believe that people can't read. The majority of those people who do answer my questions are either very young, or aren't very bright - and then you get the stupid cocky answers that are only funny to the person answering the question.

However, when I do ask for advice, the majority of the time - I get at least one person who not only answers the question - but seems to have experience in whatever it is I am asking. I just wish there were more of these.......

Hang in there.....

Yes, you are not alone.

I believe that education has always been - and would continue to be - the most crucial key to success and brighter future. Same goes with knowledge.

However, recently, I heard my classmate saying that education is not important at all. He said that there are many entreprenuers who can achive success without having to go thru proper education.

Yes, it is very pathetic that we often ignore knowledge...

I wouldn't say exponentially. But, yes it is deteriorating at a rapid pace. It is the government that will have to take the initial action only because we are such a large nation.

House paint is useful.

As to the rest of it, I honestly cannot tell when someone is showcasing their ignorance or when they are just being a goof.
