Actually there are only three colors, red, blue and yellow. All other colors are made from these. White is the presence of all color and black is the absence. Seven days was created by the Romans in their calender which derived from astrology and the cycles and the wonders of the world are man made and they don't want to add any more. Sorry but the number theory here is just a myth.

Actually, there are more: 7 notes, 7 main chakras in a human body, 7 deadly sins, [*7* colors of the rainbow, and not just 3, like somebody specified]... It is for scientists of the future to decide what's what, but there is a reason for everything.
There are other 'magic' numbers as well, maybe you'll find your answer in numerology? A feeble answer, I know, I wish I had something more tangible, as I have asked myself similar questions. Good luck in finding the satisfactory reason :)

and any other combination of the above, is considered a new color..
gold silver brown......
my point is, there are more than 7 colors...
and as far as 7 wonders,
in the eyes of a child there are no 7 wonders of the world,
there are 7 million......
7 is a lucky number even though
and this is true in all sorts of religion....

seven days is scientific -- was a product of the Julian calendar -- didn't exist before the Julian calendar.
