Although he did continue to act after the '3 Ninjas' films, notably the role of Tom Hank's screen son in Apollo 13 (1995) at the age of fourteen, he stepped out of the acting scene by his mid-teens to focus on school and his first love, music. He was seven years old when he was first introduced to the guitar by his grandfather and it was a gift he nurtured as he grew up. Max has since set up his own Los Angeles-based band 'Haden' where he plays lead guitar and vocal. He also attends the University of Southern California where he is studying anthropology.

(June 2003) Max is a bartender in Los Angeles, California. He is also studying anthropology at the University of Southern California.

By the age of fourteen, Max stepped out of acting to focus on school and his first love, music.
Max then set up his own Los Angeles-based band 'Haden' where he played lead guitar and vocal.
The link below has info on the band but not Max, he must have left it.

He also attends the University of Southern California where he is studying anthropology.

The University may have more up-to-date information, whether or not it's for public knowledge is another matter.

It appears IMDb's last information on Max is a couple of years old:
(June 2003) Max is a bartender in Los Angeles, California.

Yes, he is still in Haden as the lead guitar and vocals. And he's in college studying anthropology.
